Crossniacs Dominate Day 1 of Hudson Double Cross

Crossniacs teammates CJ Faulkner and Chris Fisher finished a convincing 1-2, respectively, in Day 1 of the Hudson Double Cross Shootout. The pair joined forces right from the start to distance themselves from the rest of the 26 rider field. Contenders Adam Froemming, MBRC/Flanders, and Jesse Rients, Kuhl/Bicycle Fit Guru, both suffered 1st lap mechanicals, eliminating their chances of victory. New comer, and QBP employee, Andrew Pierre, finished 3rd place on a single-speed sporting mustache bars.

What CJ looked like on day 2 of USGP Madison

USGP 1 and 2

made the trip to Madison this weekend for the 1st round of the USGP series. I lined up 12th both days in the 35+ race so getting a good start was definately an option. Instead on Sat i struggled to get clipped in and when the race finaly started to settle in i was back around 25th place. I paniced a little at that point and started riding way to aggressive and ended up on the ground because I over cooked a corner. I was up and back on my bike pretty quickly and started picking people off and moving up. With 2 or 3 laps to go I started really closing in on a group od 6 riders and the spectators informed me that was 3-8th place. Got very close, but never got them.
Sunday brought heavy downpours, lightning, and even hail which delayed the start of our race abou 30 min. Got a good start, not great, but not horrible. It was one of those days where you battle the course, and don’t worry about the riders infront of or behind you. I just focused on keeping the bike up and riding hard. Just as we started the last lap I caught up to the guys running 3rd and 4th and the battle was on. I pushed myself to the absolute limit and then tried to get just a little bit more out of my legs ontop of that. I hit the pavement in 4th spot and that’s where I finished up. My goal was to podium one of the 2 days in Madison and I just missed it. I’m not at all bummed about it, the front of that race is full of fast, fast guys and i’m slowly but surely closing the gap on them. It was a great weekend with friends from the cities and teammates. Get out and race guys and gals. The season is on.

little write up on our new sponsor, Mercury Wheels

Mountain Low

Sorry:  I just haven’t been keeping up.  then my computer crashed. blah….blah blah.  But anyway I went up to Suwanee TN right before christmas.  Man was it cold.  The ground was frozen, but as the morning went along it began to thaw and it turned into a bumpy, slick  nightmare.  I crashed hard in the masters race and messed up my knee.  But I tried to do the 4 race anyway.  But I just couldn’t turn the pedals over with any power.  I made it to the end but I was pack fodder again.  But it was good to bet some practice in the slippery turns and mud.  And it was fun.

Talk to ya’ll later
