THAT’S a runup!
God bless freak-bikers…
Oh. My. Gawd.
Can I just say that little drop-in was the most fun I’d ever had going downhill?
I was so sorry when they told me I was done, because I couldn’t ride the drop-in again. Pictures at others’ web sites showed a number of folks crashing and burning on it, which really surprised me; I didn’t think it was all that severe. But even more surprsing was watching women who I KNEW were way more experienced than me WALK down the hill with their bikes shouldered.
Was it really that bad? Perspective, please.
When they used that downhill off the dike a couple of years ago, it was a cakewalk then and it remains a cakewalk.
I too, am surprised when I see folks in the higher Cats run down it. It goes to show you they’ve probably been training on the road more than anywhere else. Once again, another reason folks who mtb have they better skills on the technical courses.
I killed this off-camber descent everytime as a beginner. Barnaby (Team Beer Freakbiker) rode it every time too!
ehhh i just figured the end of the Crusade Season why brake now…no brakes and bombs away…
