Horning`s Hide out!

What can I say this is one tuff course! it has a ton of climbing, and Sunday was very fast and very very bumpy, my kidney`s are still in pain.

Got there early even got to warm up, went to the start at 9:30 a half hour early, and you would have thought I was late, the start was stuffed, I once again am in the back row!

We started out in this bowl shaped area, with a tight road climbing out, the start happened and we in the back of the field were kinda standing there waiting for the traffic jam to move, people were tipping over from going to slow, I shouldered and hollered out to run it! we got up to the flat section and started rolling right into this tight right hander onto some single track, huge pile up once again were standing, I could see the leaders to my left at what looked like a quarter mile away! once onto the single track I started passing guys, the corners were a little tricky and some were goinging really wide so I would dive inside, the field sections were so very bumpy every lap was an experiment in how I should best ride them, out to the run-up more jams, then a fast downhill back into the woods more climbs, down hill onto this brutal loose gravel section uphill it for me was the hardest part, I for sure was wishing I had not forgot my inhaler! then up to the top very nice fast section downhill then slight up to a set of double barriers, I liked the barriers I could come in real hot!

Hey I finished, got another top 100 place had a great time, go to Brooke Hoyer`s page for a pretty cool video

of the course!  Next week Rainier my home course and it is supposed to be awesome! so I will camp out at the start line!

The barriers were killer after that downhill section… I loved them too!
The gravel grind was also definitely the hardest part for me, too – especially after burning up the legs on those little roller coaster hills back in the woods.
    And the meadow! Ugh.
    Great course. Great day!
I will miss Rainier so I am counting on you for a killer race report :)

Now I know why I don’t ride in a baby carrier on someone’s back during cx races!

Looked like a great course – too bad about the pile-up at the start though.
