This past weekend in Astoria, Oregon (Goonies R Good Enuf!) saw plenty of cyclocross fun. Unfortunately Mother Nature has not been kind to the PacNW AllStarz. Will turned into beef brisket and wasn’t able to attend (get well, Will!), Guy caught some nasty bug, and despite deploying some good ol’ HTFU, wasn’t able to finish his race. I’m dealing with a crappy sinus infection so every bump and rut on the course felt like electric shocks jolting through my upper teeth. Plus the previous week’s inactivity while dealing with the worst of the illness left me with nothing to give in my legs and lungs. (Hey– I don’t mean to sound like I’m whining.)

It fell to Jim to give a good account for the Crossniacs.

He put in a solid ride and scored a decent mid-pack finish, just missing the bell lap. Good show Jim!
