1st cross race of the year…60 mins is long…72 mins is even longer….I got a decent start and then faded as the 1/2s kept the pace insanely high…I got into a group and we worked together and a few people popped along the way…2 laps to go and we were about to get lapped by the leader…but he didn’t pass us..there were 3 of us. The other guys were racing the 1/2 race so I was fine letting them fight it out..because we almost got lapped, we did 1 more lap then the rest of the field that got lapped, ending up in a 72 min race. I sat up at the end and was cooked. Rolled in 2nd in 35s and 11th overall…Plenty of horsepower out there today. The guy that won Duewy Dickey, is a MN legend and happened to be racing 35+ as well…so the rest of us will be racing for 2nd place if he stays in the 35s. No touching that guy…he even put the screws to Natz Champion Bjorn.
